Scheduled Tribes


 Statistics Division is primarily assigned to compile  and prepare Statistical Profile of Scheduled Tribes of India  on the Key Indicators and its Publication. This is done through collection, collation, analysis and dissemination of data and information on various facets of tribals and their socio-economic development  from different sources - Census, NSSO, NFHS, SRS, AIES, Government Departments, Budget Documents, Government Schemes (both State and Central level),  Special Component Plan for SCs/ STs, Nodal and Line Ministries (Rural Development, Human Resource Development, Women & Child Development, etc.).



The other major responsibilities of the Division are: (i)  Preparation and up-dation of the Results-Framework Document (RFD),  (ii)   Preparation and up-dation of the Citizens’ / Clients’ Charter (CCC), (iii) Concurrent Monitoring of Schemes/ Projects run through NGOs/VOs , (iv) Concurrent Evaluation of Schemes/ Projects run through NGOs/VOs,  (v) Co-ordination with the World Bank on the ’recipient-executable’ Study on “Improving Development Programmes in Tribal Areas”,  and (vi) Creation  and maintenance of “Tribal Info” on the pattern of “DevInfo” .
